Washington D.C. is conveniently located between two major airport. Most international flights will arrive at Washington Dulles (IAD) about a 30 minute drive from downtown depending on the traffic. The other option is Reagan National Airport (DCA) about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown.


Washington D.C. is easily accessible from many major metropolitan areas on the East Coast. Expect to hit traffic on I-95 and on I-495 (the beltway). Having an EZ Pass will expedite your time through toll booths on I-95 and save you some money. Washington D.C. is about an hour south of Baltimore, MD, 2 hours south of Philadelphia, PA, and 4 hours south of New York, NY.

D.C. is full of monuments. The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, and Jefferson Memorial are the most notable ones, but there are many more in the same area. The Smithsonian Museums are world class and free! Pick one or two to visit on your trip. Don’t forget to stop by the White House and the Capitol to get a glimpse of where all the government action takes place. For one of the most beautiful buildings in town, visit the Library of Congress, you won’t be disappointed!
