Prague

In June of 2014 we made a long weekend trip to Prague in the Czech Republic.  It was about a 5 hour drive from where we lived in Germany.  This trip was one of our more “casual” trips in that I didn’t make a lot of plans or itineraries for it.  We mostly spent our time wandering and just enjoying the city.  Call it travel burn-out from planning so many other adventures.  So I don’t have much practical advice or information to share, sorry!  We enjoyed Sandeman’s Free Walking Tour, drinking cheap and delicious Czech pivo (beer), the gorgeous art nouveau architecture, and the many stunning views and parks of the city.  Here are some visual highlights of our time in the beautiful Czech city.

Prague, we love you! Muah!

Prague Tips:

  • If you are driving, don’t forget to purchase your vignette right before or after you cross the border.
  • You can also park at one of the Park & Rides outside the city center then take the metro in.  This saved us some money on our parking expenses.
  • If you’re able, try to get tickets to see some theater or a musical performance.  This type of entertainment is frequent and often very affordable compared to other European cities.
  • This wasn’t the most stroller-friendly city.  We made it work, but my husband was carrying the stroller up and down steps several times.  We also had to leave it to enter St. Vitus Cathedral.
